I’m an abstract decorative artist based by the sea in Sussex. Working primarily in acrylic, I’m drawn to its depth, movement, and fluidity — qualities that bring each piece to life.

My practice centres on original acrylic paintings, which then become the starting point for our growing collections of art led home furnishings and wearable art.
I have spent most of my life in nursing (now retired) and started painting in 2020, what started as a creative outlet soon became my passion, I created art as gifts to friends and family and soon had people commissioning my art, this led to a stall at St Leonards Church Market, where I was able to sell my art and gain more commissions.
I have always been interested in community involvement and started volunteering for Progress Network, a local youth project, donating equipment for a recording studio led to the opportunity of renting my studio and shop on Kings Road.
Sanigar is my family name and means "the place of swans by the sloping wood"
I named my business in honour of my father and brother and because it is such an unusual surname.
I opened Sanigar Studio to create a space where I can paint, people can connect with the work and browse our many collections. Many of my favourite pieces have come from clients who arrive with a spark of inspiration — a room they’re redesigning, a colour they love, or a product they can’t quite find anywhere else. I enjoy the process of listening, refining and creating something that feels personal and genuinely right for their space.
Each painting can become bespoke wearable art such as bucket Hats, flared leggings, lycra leggings, satin ties, scarves and shawls and home furnishings such as cushions, throws and much more. I really enjoy designing and creating the patterns for my art led pieces
